Fiscal Calendar

"Legal entities with accounting" organization types must have a fiscal calendar assigned while rest of organization types can inherit it from its parent.
A calendar contains years and the periods of each year required to get an accurate organization's accounting practice.


Calendar

The fiscal calendar window allows to create and maintain the organization's fiscal calendar.

  • Organization : Organizational entity within client
  • Name : A non-unique identifier for a record/document often used as a search tool.
  • Description : A space to write additional related information.
  • Active : A flag indicating whether this record is available for use or de-activated.
  • Client : Client for this installation.
  • Calendar : A table showing the days of the week for each month of the year.

Year

Year tab allows to create as many fiscal years as required within a fiscal calendar.

  • Year : Calendar Year
  • Fiscal Year : Calendar Year
  • Description : A space to write additional related information.
  • Active : A flag indicating whether this record is available for use or de-activated.
  • Create Periods : Create 12 standard calendar periods (Jan-Dec) and an optional 13th period
  • Close Year : This proces creates the closing transactions and the corresponding opening transactions for the following year.
  • Undo Close Year : This process undo all what was done by the closing year process; all the accounting entries which were generated are undo or reverted.
  • Organization : Organizational entity within client
  • Client : Client for this installation.
  • Calendar : A table showing the days of the week for each month of the year.

Period

The period tab lists all the periods of a year.

  • Period No. : Unique Period Number
  • Name : A non-unique identifier for a record/document often used as a search tool.
  • Starting Date : A parameter stating when a specified request will begin.
  • Ending Date : A parameter stating when a specified request will end.
  • Period Type : Period Type
  • Active : A flag indicating whether this record is available for use or de-activated.
  • Year : Calendar Year
  • Period : A specified time period.
  • Organization : Organizational entity within client
  • Open/Close All : Open/Close all Base Document Types
  • Client : Client for this installation.

Period Control

Add and edit document types to be included in the accounting process during the selected fiscal period.

  • Period Control : Period Control
  • Document Category : A classification of document types that are shown and processed in the same window.
  • Active : A flag indicating whether this record is available for use or de-activated.
  • Period Status : Current state of this period
  • Period Action : Action taken for this period
  • Open/Close : Open/Close
  • Period : A specified time period.
  • Organization : Organizational entity within client
  • Client : Client for this installation.

Non Business Day

Non business days can be listed in this tab as a way of stating non working days for an organization and a calendar to be taken into account while calculating for instance payment dates.

  • Non Business Day : Day on which business is not transacted
  • Organization : Organizational entity within client
  • Calendar : A table showing the days of the week for each month of the year.
  • Active : A flag indicating whether this record is available for use or de-activated.
  • Name : A non-unique identifier for a record/document often used as a search tool.
  • Non Business Day Date : Date when business is not conducted
  • Client : Client for this installation.
